Uppingham's December Newsletter

December Newsletter

Introduction

Welcome to my monthly update for the residents and communities of the Uppingham Neighbourhood Policing Area (NPA).

This newsletter will be circulated on a regular basis and will provide an insight into what is happening at the NPA.

 PCSO Andy Wylie

#YouSaid - What matters to you

We have listened to you and the concerns you have raised through surveys, community consultation and analysing crime trends.

Using this data as of 1 November 2024 the following are the Uppingham priorities for the following three months.

Priority 1. Anti-Social Behaviour

You Said:  Anti-Social Behaviour is a concern for residents of Uppingham.

What we are going to do: We will complete high visibility patrols of hotspot areas and deal proactively with offenders with a view to providing a community resolution disposal if it is applicable.

Priority 2. Drugs

You Said: The use and selling of drugs in Uppingham are a concern for residents.

What we are going to do: Neighbourhood and Response Officers WILL patrol hot spot areas where drug activity has been brought to our attention.  Intelligence will be gathered daily through community engagement. Planned operations will be in place around Rutland

which will be focusing on vehicles and drugs coming in and out of Rutland from other areas of the county.

Priority 3. Road Safety

You Said:   Road Safety (speeding) is a concern the people of Uppingham want us to address.

What we are going to do: We will provide a frequent high visibility policing presence in the affected areas with marked vehicle

patrols and regular monitoring. We will deploy the speed gun and deal with offenders robustly where appropriate. We will also

continue to work with partner agencies, such as the Road Safety Partnership mobile speed camera van, to identify areas of concern

and request deployment of that resource.

#WeDid - What we are doing

Anti-Social Behaviour

This month the beat team have been out for a partner agency patch walk with the Community Safety Team at Rutland County

Council around Uppingham.

We have been into some licensed premises to better understand what issues they are facing and what we can do to help.

We have also been into Uppingham Community College to speak with some students and their Designated Safeguarding Leads.

Then we have made some visits to some vulnerable members of the community.

The beat team have also attended additional top up training sessions to share with and learn from other areas around Leicestershire

and the country to see what they have found works when tackling ASB (Anti-Social Behaviour).

You can report ASB to the Police and Council via the links below:
