Weekly update from the Radford Neighbourhood Policing Team

Dear Members,

Here’s a quick round up from me and the rest of the Radford Neighbourhood Policing Team.

What’s been happening:

Vehicle crime

We have had one report of a theft which happened on TREHERNE ROAD. Thieves have stolen number plates from a Vauxhall Corsa. A simple way to protect your number plates from being stolen is to replace the screws with anti-theft ones which can be purchased from a number of automotive stores.

Whilst on the subject of vehicles, across the four wards three vehicles have been seized for no insurance and two for no tax.

A vehicle stolen from Bedworth has also been recovered following a call from a concerned resident.

Burglary

An attempted burglary has been reported on FOSTER ROAD which happened between 6:00 pm and 08:00 pm on Wednesday 20th November 2024. The occupant has returned home where it was noticed that the front door handle had been completely removed. Thankfully no entry was gained.

Good news

Officers spotted two males pushing a motorbike. Both males abandoned the motorbike and ran off. After a short foot chase one male was found hiding in bushes. Checks on the motorbike showed it was stolen from the City Centre in July. Male arrested on suspicion of theft of motor vehicle and going equipped.

Tis the season

Whilst out on our patrols we are noticing more and more residents putting their Christmas decorations up 😊 and no doubt starting to buy presents.  Please think about security whilst Christmas shopping:

  • When parking in public car parks, consider a secure location with CCTV and good lighting.
  •

  • Never leave cash, presents or designer clothes on display in your car.  Put valuables out of sight.
  •

  • Ensure your car is locked by checking the door handle before leaving.
  •

  • If you have a key less car, invest in a steering lock and faraday pouch.
  •

If you have any information about crime in your area you can let us know 100% anonymously by contacting CRIMESTOPPERS 0800 555 111
