#YouSaid - What matters to you

We have listened to you and the concerns you raised and prioritised the following:

Priority 1: Anti-Social Behavior (Halloween and Bonfire Night)

Anti-Social Behavior (ASB) Following several issues during the summer, concerns relating to possible issues around Halloween where this type of behavior can historically be an issue.

Priority 2: Residential Burglary

As the darker nights approach, and an increase in residential burglary during September, Burglary is an offence that has a huge impact on the victim and raises concerns for local residents.

Priority 3: Vehicle Crime

Vehicle crime can increase during the winter. Theft of personal belongings left in vehicles and theft of vehicles can increase due to increased opportunities during the winter months.

#WeDid - What we are doing

  • October has seen several Speights of residential Burglary throughout the Leicestershire area, including Burbage. Additional resource has been allocated to these types of crime to investigate, target the activity, and identify those involved. Locally, we have been supporting residents in crime reduction methods via targeted visits and community events such as the “darker nights” crime prevention event we organized.
  • We have been completing patrols at key locations, dealing with reports such as neighbour disputes, vehicle related issues, road safety complaints and some isolated incidents of Anti-social behaviour.
  • We have attended multiple events in the area to discuss subjects such as road safety issues, burglary and vehicle crime. We also completed our community speed watch event in the area as requested by residents.
