A big thank you from Pershore SNT

Yesterday the Met Office issued a yellow weather warning across the West Mercia force area which saw Pershore experience heavy downpours and gusty winds.

Police received reports of a tree which had fallen on the B4084 blocking both lanes, causing disruption to motorists travelling along the road.

Pershore Safer Neighbourhood Team attended the location and closed the road whilst awaiting Highways attendance. In the meantime, helpful local residents brightened our day by attending with a chainsaw allowing for the prompt removal of the tree.

This acts as a reminder that the police are the public and the public are the police.

On a side note, we are reminding motorists to take extra care when travelling as they may experience an increase in surface water, flooding and debris in the road that could lead to difficult driving conditions.
