School visits in Darley & Winster.

This week  marks 16 Days of Action Against Domestic Violence is a global campaign aimed at raising awareness and taking action to end domestic violence and gender-based abuse.

Today PCSO Thompson has visited the children at South Darley Primary School and Winster Primary School  to talk to the children about Healthy Relationships, to present a school input around Hands are for helping, not hurting.

We talked about NEGLECT, what is it,  what are the impacts of neglect.

Then finally we looked at Domestic Abuse, discussed that it can happen to anyone of any age or gender, and most importantly how to ask for help if we see any of this behaviour.

A huge thank you to both schools for allowing us to educate the young people in the community about these matters.

PCSO Thompson will also be visiting Darley Dale Primary, Darley Church Town Primary and Elton Primary over the next two weeks to inform their young people on this matter.
