Good Afternoon,

This morning I was out and about on cycle patrol again. I had my 2nd Beat Surgery / Meeting since I’ve been back. At the 1st one I had 2 residents attend and today I had 3 residents attend. Thank you to those who have come.

The topics raised have been cycling without any lights, highways signage, a road traffic / public order incident, safeguarding a vulnerable person, a specific car that is driving at excessive speed with very loud persistent backfiring and general crime levels in West End.

I was told that there had been many complaints and comments written on a local West End Facebook group relating to the car. I was given the registration number and checked this on my laptop in the Beat Surgery – and its turns out that the car has never been reported to police, despite some people knowing the registration number. Please can I ask that if you are affected by something, by all means use Facebook as a community outlet to comment – but please ensure you ALSO report incidents to the police – we cannot even begin to try to do something about it, if we don’t know what’s happening. 

My next Beat Surgery / Meeting is Thursday 12th December 7-8pm at the Old Fire Station, West End. I look forward to meeting more residents.
