Motor Vehicle Offences.

On the 26/11/24 between 03:50 and 05:40

In BRIDGECOTE, COVENTRY, COVENTRY, CV3 3FF

A unknown on a skateboard, wearing high vis jacket approached unlocked Vehicle parked in parking bay near to home address. Offender has opened front offside of vehicle and then made their escape. Items taken.

On the 26/11/24 to the 27/11/24 between 20:00 and 07:00

In BROOKVALE AVENUE, COVENTRY, COVENTRY, CV3 2DG.

An unknown offender has approached locked and secure vehicle. Offenders have gained entry via unknown means and stolen items on display in the vehicle. offender has then made good escape in unknown direction.

Owner of keyless vehicle are reminded to put the car key fob in a Faraday Device.

Keyless entry and start systems are can also make your car extremely vulnerable, especially as technology is becoming increasingly more intelligent. However.

A faraday bag or pouch can help keep your car safe if you have keyless entry.

Please ensure you remove any items and valuables from your vehicle when leaving, particularly overnight and when in remote locations. Opportunists have no regard for value. In the past we have even seen break ins to vehicles for small change left in the centre console – so please ensure you remove everything. 

We are looking into a number of lines of enquiry in regards to the crimes mentioned above, including looking at CCTV evidence, Dash Cam footage as well as speaking to key witnesses who may have important and helpful information to assist us. Drug dealing 

As usual we have a number of drug related intelligence logs this week from various sources that we will continue to develop. We are working on intelligence of a number of potential cannabis grows, addresses, vehicles and associates of offenders and suppliers. 

We continue efforts to identify offenders, vehicles and the locations from which drug dealers are operating. We have a number of lines of inquiry into this. There are a number of addresses, vehicles, individuals and areas regarding drug dealing and county lines that we are aware of and are monitoring closely. Officers have conducted stop searches of both individuals and vehicles in the area. 

The team continue their success in the disruption of county lines drug dealing/supply as well as identifying various individuals and groups involved in the distribution of illegal drugs that cause significant harm to our community. The efforts and investigation into illegal drugs in our area will continue. 

We do rely on the public to assist us with information and intelligence, so we encourage anyone who has information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, to report this to us. There are a number of ways to do this and you can remain anonymous if you wish. Although we never reveal the source of where the information comes from. The information and intelligence we receive from the public is invaluable to us. 

The most typical way in which such information is managed is that upon receipt of information from a member of the public - such as a smell of cannabis or strange comings and goings - is that officers from the local team will make their own enquiries and record their findings, and this will be the basis for a warrant application.

Burglary 

There has been x 4 Burglary’s - Business in the Community this week in the Binley/Willenhall

Residential Burglary of the Home

UPPER PARK, COVENTRY, COVENTRY, CV3 3GH.

2 x unknown offenders entered an address via insecure front door and stolen Items. The offenders also broke into an office within the address and stolen other items belonging to the occupant. The offenders then made off on foot.

HERALD BUSINESS PARK, Coventry, CV3 2SY

On the 23/11/24 between 18:45 and 19:00

2 unknown offenders have gained access to building by forcing side fire door open, they have carried out untidy search and taken money from location before making good their escape via same entrance.

Pilot Close, Coventry, West Midlands, CV3 4RS

On the 24/11/24 at 19:00

Two unknown male offenders have driven a silver vehicle to the location and parked opposite the location. One male has then got out of the vehicle and ran towards the window with the golf club and smashed the window. The offender has then smashed the door and tried to gain entry through the shutter but when this was not possible he has ran back to the vehicle and the vehicle made off from the location. Another male offender was present as a lookout.

On the 26/11/24 at 14:00 hrs

An unknown male has attempted to gain entry to the house via the front door using the door handle. Offender has not gained entry and has left in an unknown location.

Beware In the last month we’ve had lock snapping burglaries in Radford, Wainbody, Earlsdon, Cheylesmore, Binley and Willenhall  

The team have been conducting regular late-night patrols to disrupt potential opportunistic offenders and deter crime. However, enquiries and investigations are also ongoing in relation to previously reported burglaries.

Although the team will continue their strategic patrols aimed to prevent and disrupt, there are some things you can also do to deter potential burglars;

Anti-Social Behaviour 

We are aware of ongoing ASB in Willenhall/Binley, as well as other various areas and properties, and we are taking positive action against this. I will be conducting various joint visits with partner agencies this week to problem addresses that cause ongoing issues for residents and repeat demand.

The team are continuing to patrol our usual ASB hotspots and have seen a reduction in incidents when doing so, as well as responding to any new incidents. We are also aware of a number of problem individuals causing regular issues. We have conducted home visits on a number of people so far and we continue our efforts in identifying others.

Beggars 

We are aware of Beggars at the Airport Retail park and at McDonald’s Restaurant in Willenhall Lane.

The West Midlands Police have repeatedly offered help and signposted them to various agencies who can assist them. We advise not to give them money or goods as this only serves to fund their addictions. They do have support from various agencies (including offers of rooms/a bed) and this will only encourage the ongoing anti-social behaviour that we consistently get reports and complaints about. Some even have their own properties.

We understand that this behaviour can be intimidating and we still continue to regularly patrol these hotspots. Some individuals have Community Protection Notices in place due to their behaviour, so please don’t hesitate to report this to us if you are affected or see this happening. 

We continue to record any breaches of conditions for those that have Community Protection Notices and will enforce these in order to protect the public from their behaviour. 

Good news, results and other things we’ve been up to this week. 

Additional Guardian patrols are being conducted in the area after 11pm in relation to Burglary and Vehicle Crime to prevent and deter crimes. Officers have been successful and have disrupted and identified a number of offenders.

PACT Meetings (Police and Communities Together)

Continued 2025, date to be revised.

PACT (Police and Communities Together) is a partnership meeting which gives you the opportunity to regularly meet with your local Neighbourhood Policing Team, local councillors and other local partners, and raise any community issues.

We use these meetings to find out what the issues are in the community and to answer questions from residents with the aim to tackle crime and community safety concerns at a local level. These meetings are your opportunity to raise your community priorities and concerns, receive crime prevention advice and receive updates on what the NPT and councillors have been doing to address the priorities and concerns raised at the previous meeting.

The meetings provide communities a forum to influence what happens in their neighbourhood and facilitates partnership working between local agencies and residents.
