Speeding in Wem

Wem Safer Neighbourhood Team has recently received a number of complaints from members of the public in relation to speeding motorists in Wem. Last week, officers from our Motorcycle Traffic Support Team attended Wem spending time on Love Lane where 11 motorists were identified for driving above the 30mph limit and will be dealt with accordingly, the highest speed being 45mph.

As part of the Local Policing Community Charter, Wem Town Council have identified Safer Roads as one of the Policing Priorities in the area. We will continue to work our partner agencies and support teams in order to address these concerns.

There are a number of ways to report road safety issues either on 101 or online using this link Report a road traffic incident | West Mercia Police. In an emergency, please dial 999.

If you have a dashcam and have captured any traffic offences that you wish to report, this can be done via Op Snap which is found on Operation Snap | West Mercia Police
