Police: Priority Update - Road Safety


Hello Rutland North, 

 

You have said speeding is a concern in Essendine and Clipsham, this morning PCSO’s (Police Community Support Officers) from Melton Mowbray have supported our Rutland North road safety priority and have conducted the following speed monitoring.

 

15 minutes was spent targeting traffic entering Essendine from the direction of Ryhall. 44 cars were monitored out of which 4 were above the prescribed speed limit of 30mph at 34/32/33/40. The 2 motorists at the higher speeds will be receiving an advice letter. 

 

15 Minutes was then spent targeting motorists entering the village from the direction of Bourne. 48 vehicles were monitored of which 5 were above the 30pmh speed limit at 37/34/32/31/31, again the 2 motorists at the higher speeds will be receiving an advice letter.

 

20 minutes was then spent in Clipsham monitoring traffic entering the village on Main Street from the direction of Stretton. Out of 8 motorists 3 were travelling above the 30mph speed limit at 40/33/31, with a speeding advice letter sent to the motorist travelling at 40.
