Dear Residents,
Recently, we have received numerous calls from concerned people in regards to people knocking on doors in the East Hull area explaining they are from Scottish Power and providing a sales pitch.
The team at Preston Road have made several enquiries over the past few days and we can reassure you that those sales people spoken to by police are legitimate and they work for a contracted company from Scottish Power. As much as we assure you that the ones we have spoken to are from legitimate businesses, we still urge people to be cautious when answering the door to cold callers and saying no to people is okay and we advise against letting these people inside your homes. Please remain vigilant and if you are concerned please challenge and request ID.
If cold callers ever become aggressive then we advise protecting yourself by closing the door and calling the police.
We thank you for your calls with good intent and hope this provides some reassurance to you during this festive time of year.
