APPEAL: Fatal collision, A1033, Thorngumbald


EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE: Holderness

Officers are appealing for information following a fatal collision on the A1033 near to the village of Thorngumbald yesterday evening (Wednesday 18 December).

A car and motorbike were travelling on the A1033 before a collision occurred at approximately 5.15pm near to junction of B1240, Thorn Road.

The motorbike rider, 49-year-old Karen Smith sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene of the collision.

Her family have asked for their privacy as they continue to be supported by specialist trained officers and our thoughts remain with them at this incredibly difficult time.

The driver and passenger of the car were taken to hospital to receive medical treatment for minor injuries.

We are appealing for anyone who may have been in the area or who has dashcam footage that may assist with our enquiries to please contact us on our non-emergency number 101 quoting log 380 of 18 December.
