Having been the Sergeant for the Evington and Coleman Wards since March, the last nine months I can say without question East Leicester is one of the most welcoming, kind and exciting places that I have worked. 

It has been a steep learning curve, having not been posted to the city before there has been a lot for me to learn about the different religions, cultures and communities. 

I and my team have been privileged to be involved in many community events including Diwali, Nagar Kirtan, Vaisakhi, Holi, the Polish Summer event, and many more and hope to attend many more next year. 

Having been a Police officer for the last 18 years I can safely say I have never worked anywhere that I have been so openly welcomed by a community. So many have helped me learn and develop deep understanding of the amazing communities that make up this area.

There is still so much more I would like to see, so many more of the community that I would like to meet and there is always more to learn. 

As we move into 2025 I would welcome all to attend our beat surgeries. Our priorities are guided based on what the community tell us we need to focus on. We regularly assess surgeries to put them at times and places that suit you.
