Christmas period, safer nights.

This party season our officers are here to keep you safe.

At this time of year, local bars and clubs are full of revellers celebrating at Christmas parties or meeting up with friends – and West Midlands Police and our partners will be there to make sure everyone gets home safely.

Across all of the local towns and city centres, officers and volunteer Night Guardians will be on patrol at weekends to help anyone who finds themselves alone, vulnerable, in need of medical assistance or police help.

We work with licenced premises to make sure staff are trained in using anti drink spiking products and safety schemes like ‘Ask for Angela’, which allows people to ask for help if they find themselves in a difficult or intimidating situation, by asking bar staff for Angela.

When you use this code, it alerts the staff that you need assistance. They can then offer support in various ways, such as arranging a taxi for you, providing a safe place for you to contact a friend, or helping you leave the venue if you're feeling unsafe due to someone else's actions, words, or behaviour.
