Christmas Eve - how did that happen? It seems to have been the quickest of years. It’s a great time of year amidst all the chaos of organising and preparing, to take a second, reflect on the year that has been, remember old friends and give thanks to the people who make life better. Neighbourhood Watch Scotland has been on the go for a long time. We have many friends amongst you who have been coordinators for decades, as well an increasing number of new coordinators joining us. Through the act of stepping forward and setting up a watch you are saying “I care about my community and the people in it”. That is a wonderful thing. Your daily acts will often go without thanks, but never doubt you are doing something that makes our communities better. Through your role you also enable others to get involved. You are an amazing bunch of people, nearly 700 of you all over Scotland covering around 60,000 households. The difference you make on a daily basis to people's sense of well-being through your direct help, support, encouragement, random acts of kindness and connecting people is extraordinary. The positive impact of your actions on the people around you is more than you will ever know. We want to say a heartfelt thank you to each and every one of you, you are valued and appreciated. YOU are Neighbourhood Watch Scotland.
We wish you and yours a happy, peaceful and safe festive season.
