Many of you will be out and about this New Years Eve, these are just a few tips to keeping safe.

If you are attending a party or event away from home, be careful how and when you post to social media, Don't let the thieves know you are away from home. If you want to tell everyone what a good time you've had why not wait until the following morning when you are back in.

Plan your travels, know how you are getting there and more importantly back home again. Problems often occur post celebration such as finding yourself in a strange part of town or situation which could have been avoided with a little forward planning. Book taxi's early or arrange to share with friends.

Make sure your phone is fully charged just before leaving the house. Important in case you need it in an emergency to phone 999 or even to contact friends and family for help. Why not consider having your location shared with either friends or family so if you need help you are easier to find. Finally you'll need a fully charged phone for all those photo's and videos of you having a good time.
