Hello all.
I know that I bang on about these electric scooters that they mustn't be ridden anywhere that's not private land with the land owner's permission but it is for reasons of safety to other road users, pedestrians and the rider themselves and of course it's illegal to do so, as I've said before, it is the equivalent of driving a vehicle on public roads, pavements etc without insurance, MOT and tax. Have a look at the information supplied by the Government on the link that's attached which shows the statistics regarding these scooters.
The E-Scooter pictured is one that I seized today despite the owner/rider of it being warned previously by a colleague, the likelihood is it will be crushed within two weeks, not to mention the endorsements that the adult I seized it from will have on their driving licence which will be a minimum of 6 points for not having insurance and a fine of £300. If you own one and you aren't able to use it on private land with the land owner's permission, my advice would be to sell it and buy a pushbike or even an electric pushbike as long as it is one that is legal to ride in the public domain otherwise you may find that your expensive E-Scooter is seized and crushed.
