Crime Report Kirkby in Ashfield and the Rural Villages for the week to midnight Wednesday 1 January 2025


Officers from the Kirkby Neighbourhood Policing Team will be holding beat surgeries on the following dates.

Burglary Dwelling

Report at 12.13pm on Thursday 26 December that the Selston Working Men’s Club on Recreation Street, Selston, had been broken into and a till containing cash and bottles of drink had been stolen.

Theft of motor vehicle

At 3.19pm on Monday 30 December in Marlborough Road, Kirkby in Ashfield, the steering wheel and side mirror of a moped was damaged in an attempted theft by three white males, around 16 years of age, wearing ski masks and heavy coats/puffer jackets. Two were on bikes and the third on foot.

Criminal Damage

At 7.38pm on Sunday 29 December in Stonechurch View, Annesley, a front window of a property was smashed.

Between 8.00pm on Monday 30 and 5.40am on Tuesday 31 December in Crescent Road, Selston, the windscreen of a Ford Transit van was cracked.

At 6.23pm on Thursday 26 December in Nottingham Road, Selston, six or seven male teenagers, all wearing hoodies, were kicking at the front door and banging on the windows of White Lion, disturbing the customers.

Around 11.00am on Friday 27 December in Annesley Cutting, Annesley, a motorised scooter, being ridden at high speed on the pavement, caused an elderly person walking their dog to jump aside to avoid being hit. The scooter rider was a white female dressed in black with a white shopping bag on the handlebars.

At 3.30pm on Friday 27 December in Derwent Drive, Kirkby in Ashfield, three male youths were kicking a football at a house door and the garage.

Around 4.00pm on Friday 27 December in Acacia Avenue, Annesley Woodhouse, a mother was walking her young child in the Acacia Avenue Recreation Ground when she was verbally abused by three youths who then followed her as she went to get in her car, continuing to make offensive remarks and throwing sausage rolls at her.

At 6.01pm on Monday 30 December in Kingsway, Kirkby in Ashfield, a report of at least two motorcycles being ridden in Kingsway Park.
