Dear Neighbourhood Watch / Police Alert members Let’s get 2025 the year of Safer Communities across Milton Keynes! The Neighbourhood Watch Association for our district was busy last year but - guess what - we want to do more this new year! I have good news: our local Police, lead by Inspector Amy Vanderhoeven, contributed funds for us to stock up on membership leaflets. In addition, the Police & Crime Commissioner supported us too, and we received a quantity of new hi-viz street-signs, promoting Neighbourhood Watch. Can you help by setting up a Watch scheme for your area, if there isn’t one already? You can check this by doing the postcode search under “Find my local NW” on www.ourwatch.org.uk (If there is an existing scheme please join it if you are not a member already.) If there’s no existing scheme covering where you live, why not draw a map and apply to start one? Once registered and approved, schemes and members benefit from our street-signs, leaflets, branded stickers, crime prevention information, as well as discounted insurance and reduced-price security items. All of which help build safer and more secure neighbourhoods. Running a scheme does not take a lot of time. Much of it is online nowadays, and there is good guidance form our volunteer team. I hope you can help us with our new year ambition for Safer Communities. kind regards
Nick
