Damage to vehicles

Good afternoon everyone.

Hope everyone is doing well!

Just a quick update regarding an incident that occurred on GREENBANK ST,

Windows have been smashed on FOUR vehicles on GREENBANK STREET, just around new years time, at approximately 10pm-12am.

It is still unknown to us the intentions of the suspects, and at this moment in time, we do not know if any valuables have been taken away from the victims.

Common reasons to why people would break/damage vehicles:

- Obtain Valuables

- Joy riding or vehicle theft

- Drug activity

- Easy target due to poor lighting

- Potentially Revenge or Vandalism

To MINIMISE the risk of vehicle break-ins, its essential to REMOVE ALL valuables, make sure no valuables can be seen if kept in your vehicle, park in WELL-LIT areas if possible, and ensure your vehicle is LOCKED and SECURED.

To the people who drive more modernised vehicles with a keyless fob, ensure to keep your key well away from your vehicle, keyless car thefts exist!

Try invest in a faraday pouch/Lead box for your key to minimise the chances of your key signal getting picked up by keyless car thieves.

We advise everyone in the nearby area to stay vigilant for any suspicious behaviour,

If you do see any crime or suspicious behaviour occurring in your local area, please make sure to call 999 or 101 for non emergency.
