Dear Resident Here is a round-up of what has been happening in Willenhall South, New Invention, and Short Heath this last week. GOOD NEWS STORIES! A male was arrested on Tuesday 31st December 2024 by officers from the Willenhall Neighbourhood Team for shop lifting at stores across Willenhall. The male appeared at Walsall Magistrates Court on Thursday 2nd January 2025 for a first hearing. He pleaded not guilty to the charges which relate to shop thefts between 14th September and 29th December last year. The case was adjourned for a trial at Walsall Magistrates Court on 24th February. He was remanded into custody until 7th January 2025 for a bail application hearing. Officers from Willenhall Neighbourhood Team were on the scene quickly on Thursday 2nd January 2025 after a man and a woman had walked into a store on Stroud Avenue, shortly after 12.30pm and threatened staff with a knife. They then made off with items including cheese and butter. Both were arrested on suspicion of Robbery. The female was charged with 5 shop lifting offences and the male was charged for Robbery. Great work by the Willenhall Officers. CRIME PREVENTION It looks like the overnight temperatures next week will dip again below freezing, which means you may have to allow extra time to defrost your vehicle. Every winter, cars are stolen from driveways across Walsall. Thieves are looking for unattended vehicles with keys in the ignition. Please stay with your vehicle whilst your windscreen defrosts.
