Advice for Roblox users and parents of Roblox users.

Good Morning,

The Child Centred Policing Team in Sevenoaks has delivered a high volume of assemblies to primary school age children over the past twelve months, in relation to internet safety. Following conversations with young people, we are aware that “Roblox” is very popular and widely used amongst children of primary school age.

In November 2024, Roblox introduced further safety systems and parental controls. The following information has been taken from their website in relation to these changes:

  • We are introducing significant updates to the built-in protections for our youngest users and easy-to-use tools to give parents and caregivers more control and clarity.

  • We are adjusting our built-in limits around how children under age 13 can communicate.

  • Parents can now access parental controls from their own devices rather than from their child’s device and monitor their child’s screen time.

  • Internetmatters.org also provides further information for parents, specifically around Roblox, to ensure that the Roblox is being played safely by young people. Please see the link below.

It is important to ensure that your child's correct age is used when setting up their Roblox account, to ensure that the safety features and parental controls are effective.

    Kind Regards

    Claire
