Crime Report Kirkby in Ashfield and the Rural Villages for the week to midnight Wednesday 8 January 2025


Officers from the Kirkby Neighbourhood Policing Team will be holding beat surgeries on the following dates.

Between 7.00pm on Thursday 26 December and 10.00am on Friday 27 December in Nottingham Road, Selston, the door to a brick built utility room was smashed to gain entry and tools and a gym bag were stolen. A coat was also taken from an unlocked car at the front of the property.

Overnight Sunday 5 to Monday 6 January in Franklin Road, Jacksdale, the front number plate was stolen from a white Toyota Yaris car.

At1.19pm on Monday 6 January in Nottingham Road, Selston, a male in a balaclava, black coat and black trousers, smashed the window of a white Audi Q3 in the car park of the Co-op store.

At 3.00am on Tuesday 7 January in Penrose Court, Selston, a white Peugeot Expert van was broken into and two PAT testers and two Appliance testers were stolen by a white male wearing a balaclava and a dark coat.

Criminal Damage

Around 0.18am on Thursday 2 January in Rosewood Drive, Kirkby in Ashfield, a white male, late 20’s, dressed in a green camouflage jacket and navy blue Adidas bottoms, was seen with an angle grinder cutting down a CCTV camera. He made off in the direction Ashwood Avenue. 

Between 12.30pm and 3.00pm on Tuesday 7 January in Sycamore Avenue, Kirkby in Ashfield, the top floor bedroom window of a property was smashed by an item believed to be a brick.

At 11.57pm on Thursday 2 January in Edward Street, Kirkby in Ashfield, a report of two cars, one silver and one black, parked up with their headlights on full beam. The occupants were playing very loud music and suspected of smoking cannabis.

Around 3.24pm on Saturday 4 January in Little Oak Avenue, Annesley Woodhouse, a report of three males on trial bikes riding in Little Oak Wood and on public footpaths.

At 1.09am on Sunday 5 January in Arthur Green Avenue, Kirkby in Ashfield, someone was knocking on the front window of a property at ten minute intervals frightening the occupant.

Overnight Monday 6 to Sunday 7 January on Kingsway Park, Kingsway, Kirkby in Ashfield, motorbikes were ridden ripping up the grass. This is a recurring problem.
