E-Scooter Seized

Safer Neighbourhood Team Officers have been alerted today to concerns of a parent collecting their child from the school run on an illegal e-scooter.

A local PCSO on patrol was in the area at the right time and successfully seized this vehicle from the owner who was observed to set off in icy conditions with their child balanced at the front.

Derbyshire Police will continue to Seize illegal e-scooters ridden on the public highway under Road Traffic powers and actively remove the danger that they pose to both the rider and members of the public that may be in harm’s way.

Please do not risk the safety of yourself or your children. If you own an e-scooter, remember that it is not illegal to own an e-scooter, but they can only be ridden on private land.

Thank you.
