Hi folks,

While in Willaston this morning a number of concerned residents informed me of a group of boys aged between 10-12yrs fooling about on the bridge on Jacksons pond trying to crack the ice.

On my initial approach they ran off in the opposite direction.

Later, during my speed monitoring on Neston Road I met up with them and  was able to speak with them and warn them of the dangers.

To their credit they were polite and just being kids I guess, and seemed genuine in understanding the risks of being in such a location especially at his time.

Please speak with your children to ensure they do not pass the safety barriers while works continue. These children were unsupervised and we should all know the dangers around  ice and  water.
