Happy New Year from the Coldhurst & Westwood Neighbourhood Team. Hope you had a good Christmas and are all well !

Just a reminder for our Bangladeshi residents that the annual memorial ceremony for the fight to keep their Mother Language will takes place over night on Thursday Feb 20th/Friday 21st Feb in Westwood at the Bangladeshi memorial on Main Road (behind the Millennium Centre)

10-10.30pm - people will start gathering

Midnight – the ceremony takes place – laying of flowers/wreaths and speeches

1am – people start to disperse

1.30am – event is effectively over

A senior diplomatic dignitary from the Bangladeshi consulate is sometimes invited.  

Several local Officers will be attending to show respect and ensure the meeting goes seamlessly.

I'll keep you informed of any other planned meetings involving the Police in the area over the next few months , so take care .
