Drug driver

On 05/01/25 beat officers stopped a vehicle suspected to be driven by a male under the influence of drugs.

Officers completed a section 23 Misuse of drugs act search and located a small quantity of cocaine. The suspect also tested positive for cocaine on a roadside saliva test.

Suspect was arrested for driving whist over the prescribed limit of a controlled drug and possession of a controlled drug.

Samples were obtained from the suspect, and he was bailed pending the results of the blood samples.

Drink and drug drivers pose a significant risk to the public and we will continue to try and make our roads a safer place for everyone.
