Dear Resident
I am the Neighbourhood Beat Officer for the Hessle area Neighbourhood Policing Team. As Neighbourhood Policing Teams it’s crucial that we understand the communities we serve and that we know what’s important to them. Humber Talking is our way of connecting with the people we serve. We are inviting you to have a conversation with us about what matters to you, what you are worried about, how you want us to tackle the issues that concerns you and how you want to be involved with that. What we want to knowWhat are the issues that affect your community that you want the police, our partners and community members to resolve? For example, road safety, criminal damage, drug dealing and anti-social behaviour. What causes you the greatest concern in your street? For example, beggars, fly-tipping, speeding, gangs? Have you been in contact with any of the authorities such as police, fire, local authority or health and, if so, how was the response? How confident are you that the police would be there if you needed them?
Why do we want to know this? We’ve invested in our Neighbourhood Policing Teams in recent years, and with over 500 additional officers now hitting the streets, we want to be sure that we’re tackling the things that matter most to those we serve – you. You know your local area better than anyone. Our Neighbourhood Teams are fully aware of the impact local problems can cause. They are committed to listening to residents’ concerns and to addressing the issues that will make a difference to residents’ daily lives. We work continuously with communities and our partners to take action, bringing offenders to justice and making our communities safer and stronger for current and future generations.
