THEFT OF WHEELIE BINS IN YOUR AREA.


Dear all,

 

For your information, it has been brought to Greater Manchester Police's (GMP) attention that theft of wheelie bins has occurred in your area. Please, take into consideration the advice below. if your wheelie bin has been stolen, please follow the advice below to apply for replacement bin from Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council (SMBC)

 

To report theft of wheelie bins to police:

1. Call the non-emergency police number, 101.

2. Provide details about the theft, including when and where it happened.

3. Get a crime number.

 

Reporting theft of wheelie bins to local council:

1. Contact your local council directly.

2. Provide your account number, address, and contact details.

 

Preventing theft:

1. keep your bin in a secure part of your home.

2. only put your bin out the night before collection

3. take your bin in as soon as possible.

4. Avoid leaving your bin next to a wall of fence
