Crime Report Kirkby in Ashfield and the Rural Villages for the week to midnight Wednesday 15 January 2025


Officers from the Kirkby Neighbourhood Policing Team will be holding beat surgeries on the following dates.

Moor Market Cafe, 3-5 Low Moor Road,NG17 7BE on Thursday 30 January 11:30am – 12:30pm

Kirkby Leisure Centre, Hodgkinson Road, Kirkby in Ashfield, on Friday 31st January at 5:30pm. 

Moor Market Cafe, 3-5 Low Moor Road, NG17 7BE on Friday 7 February at 1:00pm – 2:00pm 

The Wild Rabbit Cafe, Portland Park, Kirkby In Ashfield on Friday 14 February at 9:30am.

Crimes reported over the past seven days.

Burglary Dwelling

At 4.59am on Monday 13 January in Penrose Court, Selston, a coat left at the bottom of the stairs was stolen through the unlocked door. In the coat pocket were bank cards and car keys. The keys were used to steal a black Mitsubishi Outlander, with an electric scooter in the boot, from the driveway of the property.

Burglary Other

At 3.02pm on Monday 13 January in Forest Road, Annesley Woodhouse, two males, with their faces covered, entered Forest Road Methodist Church through the side door and stole two laptop computers.

Theft of motor vehicle

Between 6.30pm on Monday 13 and 6.25am on Tuesday 14 January in Portland Avenue, Kirkby in Ashfield, a black Ford Focus car was stolen from a driveway.

Between 4.00pm on Friday 10 and 7.30am on Monday 13 January in Annesley Road, Annesley, an attempt was made to take a three tonne excavator from the site of the new County Council Offices. Wiring was ripped out and a screwdriver used on ignition barrel. Lights were also ripped out and beacons pulled off the machine.

Theft from motor vehicle

Around 4.30pm on Sunday 12 January in Portland Road, Selston, a black Kia Sorento estate car, parked on a driveway, was broken into and some small change and sunglasses were stolen.

Between 7.00pm on Sunday 12 and 8.30am on Monday 13 January in Union Street, Selston, a Mercedes car was broken into and a purse containing pound coins and a work bag containing a uniform was stolen. CCTV shows two males on the street at 4.44am.

Between 5.00pm and 7.50pm on Monday 13 January in Lindley’s Lane, Kirkby in Ashfield, a white Ford Custom van, parked in front of a property, was broken into by drilling the side door lock. A quantity of Milwaukee power tools were stolen.

Between 4.00pm on Monday 13 and 7.30am on Tuesday 14 January in Greenholme Close, Kirkby in Ashfield, a hole was cut in the side of a van and tools stolen.

Theft

At some time between Tuesday 7 and Tuesday 14 January in Berry Avenue, Kirkby in Ashfield, a metal gate was stolen.

Criminal Damage

Between 3.00pm on Saturday 11 and 10.00am on Sunday 12 January in Holly Hill Road, Selston, a fence between the Co-op car park and a house garden was smashed.

At 5.52pm on Sunday 12 January in Green Crescent, Selston, a group of at least six youths, age around 16 years, quite tall and wearing hoodies, kicked and cracked a plastic panel in a front door. 

Around 10.15am on Tuesday 14 January in Beacon Drive, Kirkby in Ashfield, a street CCTV camera was cut down and left lying damaged in the middle of the road.

ASB

At 8.50pm on Friday 10 January in Manitoba Way, Selston, a group of people kicked a garage door but no damage was done.

Around 1.30am on Saturday 11 January in Greenwood Drive, Kirkby in Ashfield, three white males, age approximately 14 years, all wearing dark clothing and one in what looked to be a branded jacket came onto a property. One wearing white trainers came over the front wall and kicked the front door. 

At 4.24pm on Saturday 11 January in the Ashfield Precinct, Kirkby in Ashfield, a report of a group of youths wearing helmets/face masks riding bikes in and around the foyer and car park of Morrison’s Supermarket.

At 8.06pm on Tuesday 14 January in Millers Way, Kirkby in Ashfield, a group of around ten youngsters were reported kicking the fencing down on Butterfly Meadows at the top of Millers Way.
