Witnesses sought following fatal collision in Beverley

 

It is reported at around 5pm Thursday 16 January that a silver Subaru and a black Vauxhall Mokka were travelling north along Meaux Lane when the silver Subaru is believed to have left the carriageway to the offside and collided with a tree.


Emergency services attended, however a 37-year-old man, the passenger of the Subaru, was discovered to have died at the scene. His family have been informed and are currently being supported by specialist trained officers at this extremely difficult time.


The driver of the Subaru, a 38-year-old man, was taken to hospital for treatment to serious injuries.


The driver of the Mokka, a 36-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of death by dangerous driving and remains in police custody whilst enquiries continue.


We would appeal for anyone who may have been in the area around the time of the collision, who has dashcam footage or witnessed the collision to contact us on our non-emergency number 101 quoting log 320 of 16 January.
