Series of Garage Break-ins in Sevenoaks


Kent Police are investigating a series of garage breaks in the Sevenoaks area, where power tools have been targeted.

Crimes

The first reported incident occurred on Otford Road, Sevenoaks, on 12th January 2025 at approx 05:45. Suspects caused damage to six garages and attempted to steal tools and other items. 

Further incidents include a break-in on Bradbourne Vale Road, where a garage was broken into between 5th and 13th January 2025. Although nothing appears to have been stolen, the garage was damaged. 

On Bradbourne Park Road, between 10 and 12 January 2025, suspects gained entry to a property under renovation by tampering with a key box, stealing construction tools.

In another burglary, suspects broke into two shipping containers in Underriver  between 6 and 7 January 2025, were broke into and items stolen. 

On 15 January 2025, suspects gained entry to several sheds on Scabharbour Road, Weald, by cutting padlocks and stealing items, also causing damage to the main gate.

 

Appeal

Anyone with information about these incidents is urged to contact Kent Police on 101, quoting the relevant reference numbers: 

  • 46/6206/25 for Otford Road, 
  • 46/7193/25 for Bradbourne Vale Road, 
  • 46/7036/24 for Bradbourne Park Road, 
  • 46/3397/25 for Underriver, or 
  • 46/8302/25 for Scabharbour Road.

Residents with CCTV cameras or dashcam footage are encouraged to review any relevant footage that may assist any of the above investigations.

Crime Prevention Advice

  • Always lock garage doors and gates with high-quality, tamper-resistant locks.
  • Install motion-activated lights around your property to deter criminals.
  • Secure valuable tools and items within sheds or garages and consider marking them with your postcode for easy identification.
