Shed breaks in Carrington

Nottinghamshire Police are investigating a series of shed breaks which have occurred on Watcombe Circus and surrounding roads in Carrington. These are generally occurring from early to late evening after 18.00hours. Items taken include tools and bicycles. We have also had reports of a suspicious person approaching houses in the area.

Patrols are being increased in the area and we are keen to hear from anyone who may have information or CCTV relating to these incidents or who may have witnessed any suspicious activity.

Please contact Nottinghamshire Police on 101 with any information or 999 if there is immediate concern. Alternatively you can report online on the report section of Home | Nottinghamshire Police. You can also pass on information anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Sheds are often broken into by burglars who will steal tools to use to break in to houses. Keep your shed secured with a strong lock and obscure any windows with film, paint or curtains. If possible, choose to store expensive items such as lawn mowers, hedge cutters, bicycles and tools in a more secure garage. Do not store tools outside in a garden. Do not answer the door to unannounced callers.

Further security tips can be found on Crime prevention advice | Nottinghamshire Police and on the Neighbourhood Watch website.
