Skelmersdale NPT PS 1251 & PC 6692 have been conducting patrols in and around your area and while out in the Birch Green area have come across a male driving an illegal E-Bike and when requested to stop, the driver decided to make off.

The E-Bike could be seen reaching the speed of 30mph matching the speed of other vehicles on the road.

Officer’s eventually caught up to bike at the junction of Fosters Green Road on Birch Green Road where the driver had dumped the bike and made off on foot.

The bike has been subsequently seized and further enquires will be made surrounding the rider of this vehicle so that he can made reported for summons to court for the relevant road related offences.

This type of bike, reaching the speeds it can was being used illegally, we are very aware of the reports members of the public are making for these types of vehicle being used in the commission of other offences and as such are taking robust action against those taking advantage of our communities.
