Are you the owner of a motorbike, moped or scooter?

Dear Resident,

Here's a few ways on how to protect them from theft:

1. Remove the keys - thieves are often opportunists and so they will look for bikes that are quick and easy to steal first.
2. Consider using an alarm system with tracking, immobilisation, anti-grab and movement sensors which can help protect and trace your vehicle, should it get stolen.
3. Keep your motorbike in the garage, shed or somewhere with good lighting - this will help deter thieves!
4. Use a disk lock or chain to help secure your motorbike
5. Covering your bike up can make it less attractive to thieves as they can't see the model.

Make sure to stay vigilant and look out for any suspicious activity near your bike. More advice here.

Should you need to report something, head to our website, use our webchat function or call 101.

If you believe a crime is taking place always call 999.

Kind Regards,
Annabelle Mullee
