This afternoon the local area officer for West Gorton and the Coverdale PC Williams, as well as members of the local council authority, councillors and housing partners conducted a walk around of the Coverdale Estate, to identify problems that had been raised through resident complaints.
Collectively a number of issues were identified and a plan to resolve them was agreed between the partners.
The area around Aked Close has been a hot potato for a while with local residents making numerous complaints to the council and police about the state of parking on the street, warning letters were issues last week, and anyone today who has been found parking in an inconsiderate manner has been issued with a traffic offence report ( £100 fine), GMP will continue to take robust action on people parking inconsiderately, to some this may seem a small issue, but when it brings the safety of children who then have to walk on the road to get around parked cars, it calls into question where the line is drawn.
The council and housing authorities have agreed to robust action around fly tipping. It seems that over the past few weeks there have been items discarded that would make up the entirety of a small flat, such as wardrobes, beds, mattresses and even a toilet. Anyone identified as being responsible for this will be prosecuted. This is your community, this is where you live, we want you to feel proud about the area.
The persistent criminal fraternity who feel they can come to the area and sell drugs, or commit offences should be aware that robust action will be taken to stop them, ones who cause harm to the community will suffer the consequences of the justice system.
Please promote the use of the Bee in the Loop service, to family and friends, this is a quick way to establish a quick link to your own neighbourhood policing team and report what really matters to you.
Attached are some photos of some of the activity undertaken today. | ||||
