Positive ActionBILINGUAL MESSAGE / NEGES DWYIEITHOG Hello Resident
Thank you for responding to our survey.
We have been working hard in Penfilia Road Brynhyfryd targeting theft of a vehicle which occurred sometime between 16/01/25-19/01/25. The vehicle was stolen without keys.
Recently officers have conducted extensive door to door enquires and are viewing all CCTV available.
Vehicles today are by and large more difficult to steal than ever, unless the thief can access your key or fob to clone them. Keep your keys safe, out of view when at home, and away from your front door.
Cars with keyless entry unlock automatically when the key comes within a short distance of the car. This can be from inside a pocket or bag. If you have to push a button on your car key to open your car, you don't have keyless entry.
Keyless car theft or 'relay theft' is when a device is used to fool the car into thinking the key is close by. This unlocks the car and starts the ignition. Thieves only need to be within a few metres of your car key to capture the signal, even if it’s inside your home. This means that even if your car and home are secure, thieves can still unlock, start and steal your car.
How to protect your keyless entry car When at home keep your car key (and the spare) well away from the car. Put the keys in a screened or signal-blocking pouch, such as a Faraday Bag and check if the bag or pouch is still working every few months. Reprogramme your keys if you buy a second-hand car. Turn off wireless signals on your fob when it's not being used.
Thank you for your help. It is only by the police and the public working together that we can prevent and detect crime. Do you need to speak to the police but don’t require an emergency response? You can make an online report via our website https://www.south-wales.police.uk, send us a private message via Live Chat, or call 101. In an emergency always dial 999.

Diolch am ymateb i'n harolwg.
Rydym wedi bod yn gweithio'n galed yn Ffordd Penfilia Brynhyfryd gan dargedu dwyn cerbyd a ddigwyddodd rywbryd rhwng 16/01/25-19/01/25. Cafodd y car ei ddwyn heb allweddi.
Yn ddiweddar mae swyddogion wedi cynnal ymholiadau helaeth o ddrws i ddrws ac yn edrych ar yr holl CCTV sydd ar gael.
Mae cerbydau heddiw yn anos ac yn fwy anodd eu dwyn nag erioed, oni bai y gall y lleidr gael mynediad at eich allwedd neu ffob i'w clonio. Cadwch eich allweddi'n ddiogel, allan o'r golwg pan fyddwch gartref, ac i ffwrdd o'ch drws ffrynt.
Mae ceir sydd â mynediad di-allwedd yn datgloi awtomatig pan fydd yr allwedd yn dod o fewn pellter byr i'r car. Gall hyn fod o fewn poced neu. Os oes rhaid i chi wthio botwm ar allwedd eich car i agor eich car, nid oes gennych fynediad di-allwedd. Lladrad car di-allwedd neu 'ladrad gyfnewid' yw pan ddefnyddir dyfais i dwyllo'r car i feddwl bod yr allwedd yn agos.
Mae hyn yn datgloi'r car ac yn cychwyn y tanio. Dim ond o fewn ychydig fetrau i allwedd eich car y mae angen i ladron fod er mwyn dal y signal, hyd yn oed os yw y tu mewn i'ch cartref. Mae hyn yn golygu, hyd yn oed os yw'ch car a'ch cartref yn ddiogel, y gall lladron barhau i ddatgloi, dechrau a dwyn eich car.
Sut i amddiffyn eich car mynediad di-wifr. Pan fyddwch gartref cadwch fysell eich car (a'r sbâr) ymhell i ffwrdd o'r car. Rhowch yr allweddi mewn cwdyn wedi'i sgrinio neu blocio signal, fel Bag Faraday a gwirio a yw'r bag neu'r cwdyn yn dal i weithio bob ychydig fisoedd. Ailraglennwch eich allweddi os ydych yn prynu car ail-law. Diffoddwch signalau diwifr ar eich llwb pan nad yw'n cael ei ddefnyddio.
Diolch am eich help. Dim ond gan yr heddlu a'r cyhoedd sy'n cydweithio y gallwn atal a chanfod trosedd. A oes angen i chi siarad â'r heddlu ond nad oes angen ymateb brys arnoch? Gallwch wneud adroddiad ar-lein trwy ein gwefan https://www.south-wales.police.uk, anfon neges breifat atom trwy Live Chat, neu ffonio 101. Mewn argyfwng ffoniwch 999 bob amser. | ||||
