How To Avoid Vehicle Theft

* KEEP YOUR VEHICLE : Always lock your vehicle, even when it's parked or being filled up.

* KEEP YOUR KEYS SAFE : Store your keys in a faraday bag or anti-RFID wallet. Don't leave your keys in the ignition.

* PARK RESPONSIBLY : Park in well-lit, busy areas or in your garage if you have one.

* SECURE YOUR VEHICLE : Install in-car locks, an alarm, or a tracking device. You can also secure your number plates with tamper resistant screws.

* CHECK FOR CLONING : Before buying a used vehicle, check that the vehicle identification number (VIN) on the vehicle matches the one on the DVLA V5 document.

* PROTECT YOUR BELONGINGS : Remove any valuables from your vehicle, or hide them.

* BE AWARE OF CARJACKERS : Be aware of illegal tow trucks and carjackers.

* USE A BRAKE LOCK : Use a brake lock to prevent your vehicle from being driven away.

* USE SURVEILLANCE CAMERAS : Install surveillance cameras to monitor your vehicle.

* SIGN UP TO NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH SCHEMES : Join a neighbourhood watch scheme to help keep your community safe.
