It is currently mating season for foxes. If you see a fox running across the road there may well be another following closely behind. During mating season it is not unusual for male foxes to chase away rivals and pursue females.

Please be mindful when driving, particularly in icy conditions and especially in areas near to some of Tamworth's many nature reserves. Not only for the protection of the animal but also for the safety of you and other road users.

It is also worth noting that foxes do not just come out during hours of darkness. They can be quite active during the daylight too.

Sadly, a number of Tamworth's roads are already showing evidence of foxes having being hit. Please take care.
