Update on concerns to crime in Woodhall Farm area

Hello

Further to my recent Neighbourhood Alerts email regarding any concerns in relation to crime in Woodhall Farm, here is the promised update.

We had seven responses to our email.

  • Three responses concerned antisocial behaviour, such as eggs and verbal abuse from young people outside Asda fuel station and in/around Three Cherry Trees Lane area.
  • Two responses concerned drug dealing and open use on the estate in several areas,
  • One response concerned car crime.
  • Finally, were pleased to hear from one respondent who was not concerned about crime in their area and hoped that would continue.
  • All the responses received have been kept anonymous but were discussed in a Ward Coordinators meeting which also our MP David Taylor.  David advised us that he is working with our local Police who are aware of these issues, and we would like to reassure you that there is work going on behind the scenes on strategies to help eradicate the anti-social behaviour and drug issues.  In addition, please see the reporting details below.

Regarding car crime, unfortunately we did not have time to discuss this in great detail at this meeting however, as with any incident of crime, it is important to report every incident so that the police can form a pattern of incidents which in turn enables them to direct resources to the right areas at the right times.  Please remember that unless it is life threatening or very serious in nature, one report may not seem to get any immediate response, but several reports from different people or repeat offences on different dates will really help them to help us as without your help reporting, they are unaware of emerging patterns.

We can’t emphasise enough the need for you, as members of the public and more importantly as Neighbourhood Watch Members, to report all incidents of crime and anti-social behaviour by phoning 101 or  online using the appropriate link on this page: https://www.herts.police.uk/ro/report/

or alternatively you can report anonymously using Crimestoppers: https://crimestoppers-uk.org/.

If it is an emergency, there is an immediate threat to life or damage to property, then please call 999.

Thank you for your continued support of Neighbourhood Watch.

    Kind regards.

    Sue Ferguson
