Chelmsley Team Newsletter On Sunday 19th January our team joined with Smith’s Wood & LEOS neighbourhood teams to work with colleagues from the Road Harm Team & Force Drones to target off road bikes causing public nuisance in the parks and on the roads. Bikers regularly travel between Elmdon Park through Sheldon Country Park then along the riverside walk of Kingshurst Brook into Meriden Park and Cole Bank up to Lanchester Park.
Our off-road bikes can tackle this issue safely and with the support of Traffic and Drones they were guided to the necessary locations quickly. Thank you to the residents who were keen to point us in the right direction. The day was very successful 4 Off road bikes were seized 1 person reported 2 traffic notices issued 11 searches conducted, including persons, vehicle & premises 2 arrested for burglary in a stolen vehicle 1 arrested for public nuisance
Please keep the information coming, if you know where these nuisance bikes are stored and can give descriptions of bikes and riders we can collate & compare with footage we already have from parks and dash cameras. You can report this information anonymously through Crimestoppers if you don’t want to call 101 or email chelmsleywood@westmidlands.police.uk
Since the start of the new term we have received complaints from residents and schools regarding parents driving through the safe school street zones and/or blocking residents driveways. We will be visiting the schools at drop off and pick up times to enforce the parking regulations. Here is a reminder about the school zones. https://www.solihull.gov.uk/Roads-pavements-and-streetcare/Solihull-school-streets All residents living in the streets affected are issued with two permits. If you require additional permits please contact schoolstreets@solihull.gov.uk
Schools might have different times to the ones shown on this picture so please double check the zone near you.
