SNT visit Jasmine Grove School

Last week PC BAKER and PCSO TURNER from the Bolsover Team had the pleasure of attending the Jasmine Grove School, Bolsover to meet the children and discuss the roles of the Police within the community.

The various roles of Policing were explained from Local Policing Units, Firearms, Dogs, Traffic and the Safer Neighbourhood Teams, plus many more. We also discussed the different types of vehicles and animals used to assist the Police with their daily business.

The children were given time to ask questions, look at the equipment we carry as well as trying it on, the children couldn’t believe how heavy our body armour and utility vest were and they weren’t sure about the handcuffs.

Engaging with young people, explaining our roles, and answering their questions builds positive relationships between them, the Police and other Emergency Services.
