Earlier this evening a stolen Land Rover was traveling through the Alcester area. Police became aware because it activated one of our ANPR cameras (Automatic Number Plate Recognition). Traffic and firearms officers with suitable driver training, located the vehicle, which decided to try and evade capture. A pursuit was authorised and the stolen car was eventually stopped on the borders of Coventry. The lone occupant is currently in police custody. Please report the theft of licence plates so we can add 'markers' onto those registrations. Should stolen plates be stuck onto stolen cars and they activate our cameras, our specially trained officers will be notified in live time. Your reports help our officers to be one step ahead. |
