On Wednesday 29th January 2025 at approx. 16:30hrs, North Yorkshire Police received a call from Hambleton CCTV about a female and male acting suspiciously around the town centre.

Neighbourhood and response officers were dispatched towards the area, whilst on route we were receiving regular updates from CCTV about them and were able to detain the female on the High Street but the male ran off in the direction of B&M

Whilst officers were dealing with the female we continued to search for male while being updated by CCTV and after a short run around the fields the male was detained at the Leisure Centre Car Park.

Both female and male were arrested for Shop theft, and further enquires showed the female was already wanted for offences outside of North Yorkshire.

Thankyou to CCTV for the location and description updates of the male and female and also to the people at the Leisure Centre for providing information to where the male was hiding.
