A man has this evening been charged and remanded into custody after being found to be driving whilst disqualified.

Last night Officers were alerted to a VW Caddy travelling through Armthorpe displaying false number plates. 

Officers caught up with the vehicle and its driver in Cantley. The driver was very resistant to provide his details for some reason, and didn’t want to talk with officers. 

After examining the vehicle, it was apparent the genuine number plates had been covered with false plates, changing the identity of the vehicle.

Officers carried out checks and found the driver was disqualified and had a history of driving whilst banned.

The male was swiftly arrested and taken to Doncaster Police station where he was later interviewed for driving offences.

Officers carried out enquiries in the area, and managed to build a case strong enough to reach a charge. Due to the drivers previous disqualification, he now finds himself awaiting a court appearance and likely to receive a custodial sentence.
