Rurals Neighbourhood Policing Newsletter 04/02/2025West Mercia Police Rural Matters

Dear Residents,

Welcome to our neighbourhood policing newsletter, dedicated to keeping our rural community safe and informed. This newsletter will provide up to date information of what the Rural Team have been doing to tackle crime. It will also include crimes which have occurred in your area between 21th January 2025- 4th February 2025.

What have the team been up to this week?

NEC Patrols

Officers and PSCO’S have been conducting High visibility patrols at the NEC Spring Fair between 2-5 February 2025 and working alongside security. The fair is the UK's largest marketplace for wholesale Home, Gift, Fashion and Everyday products which attracts thousands of people from all around the UK whereby the public want to park their vehicles in the car parks and return to them. Due to the spout of theft of vehicles around the NEC and the hotels surrounding, officers have put the efforts into deterring and reducing vehicle crime as well as Anti-Social Behaviour in the area.

Beat surgeries

The team have been concentrating on beat surgeries ensuring that the public are able to report crimes and raise concerns in their area. These interacting are helpful as they can provide useful and insightful information which may be a crucial piece of information police need to help the community.  In addition, if crimes and information is not reported police they will not know about what is going on and be unable to do anything about it.
