OP OBEY - TARGETTING NUISANCE BIKES IN THE TOWN CENTRE


Maidstone Town Team officer, PC CUNNINGHAM arranged OP OBEY which was enforced today. The operation utilised partnership working with OneMaidstone, Maidstone Burrough Council and Immigration. As well as other officers from our community safety team. The operation took place in Maidstone Town Centre. The aim was to tackle nuisance riders, delivery drivers, the use of illegal electric bikes and ensuring that motor vehicles were using the town centre legally. 

 

The operation was a success and illegal bikes, weapons and e-scooters were taken off of the streets of Maidstone. 

 

Results:

- 6x E-Bikes seized 

- 2x E-scooters seized

- 5x traffic offence reports created 

- 6x stop searches 

- 1x dispersal notice issued

- 2x arrests made 

- 2x weapons seized

- Multiple deal bags of drugs seized
