A short update following on from yesterdays news.

We’ve charged a 17-year-old with making threats with a bladed article in a public place following an incident in Wolverhampton.

The boy has also been charged with possessing a quantity of cannabis. He was remanded to appear at Wolverhampton Magistrates Court today (Wed) for a first hearing. 

It follows a report that a male had been seen with a machete in Stowheath Lane, Wolverhampton, on Monday afternoon.

Data released from the Office for National Statistics (ONS), covering the period year ending October 2023 to September 2024, showed that WMP had seen knife crime fall by 6%.
