Hello Resident, 

My name is Ros and I am the Neighbourhood Watch Regional Coordinator for the BT Digital Voice project for the East of England. I am organizing a range of events across the East of England to coincide with the BT Digital Switchover which will be happening across the country very soon and affecting some of our most vulnerable in their communities. I am looking for people to help host these events across Bedfordshire, informing local residents of what the digital switchover means if they have a landline and what they will need to do when the time comes as well as address any concerns they may have. This is also a great opportunity to introduce communities to the work of the Neighbourhood Watch.

Venues have not yet been arranged as I am currently scoping out volunteers who would be willing to host an event in their local area. Therefore we are looking for people that are confident to speak with people, either 1-2-1 or in small groups about the switchover and answer questions, address any concerns and support them to complete a brief survey for feedback. The events would be arranged for 2-4 hours depending on the availability of the venue, during the day on a weekday. 

You would receive FULL support and training to be able to host this event and out of pocket expenses will be reimbursed such as travel, refreshments and parking costs.

Commitment required is two one-hour online training sessions and the event itself. You will be supported by at least one other volunteer on the day and provided with resources to support your conversations.

This is a fantastic opportunity to help others to feel well informed and confident to know what will be happening, what it involves and what is expected of them. This helps reduce the likelihood that they will be scammed and confused with mis-information.
