Team 1 Response officers from Bicester Police Station arrested a man on suspicious of attempting to carry out a distraction Burglary in Nuffield Close, Bicester earlier this afternoon. This was in response to several calls from residents, who reported that the man had stated that he was interested in buying unwanted or broken gold and silver jewellery as a means of entering people's homes.

One caller recognised the man as the same person responsible for targeting a vulnerable neighbour a few weeks previously (on 24/01/25) in a distraction Burglary, where several items were stolen, including family jewellery of great sentimental value. The suspect is now in custody at Banbury Police Station awaiting interview.
