General update.

Dear residents,

We hope you are all doing well and enjoying your week.

We wanted to provide you an update regarding what we have been up to recently in your areas.

We have dealt with a number of incidents involving theft in the town centre. In relation to a couple of these we have secured positive outcomes in relation to the suspects with conditions banning them from the premises from which they stole. As ever, shopliftings are a priority for us as we continue to work closely with retailers and local businesses.

We have arrested 6 people since our last post. One in relation to a firearms offence that was discovered whilst assisting local partner agencies. Four arrests in relation to theft offences, two of which related to a theft from a highly vulnerable female. The other arrest was in relation to a prolific offender within the town who breached his court order by entering and stealing from a premise he was excluded from. We will continue to target and gather evidence against those who consistently commit crime in Tunbridge Wells.

We received information regarding four potentially stolen bikes being kept inside a communal space. We attended and confirmed the bikes stolen with two being returned to very happy owners. Enquiries to identify the other two owners and the suspect(s) are ongoing. Please continue to be vigilant when securing your bikes in public and ensure you have made a note of your bike’s serial number, should you find yourself having to report your bike stolen.

Tunbridge Wells has experienced a large number of fraudulent phone calls recently from individuals pretending to be police officers in order deceive people into handing over money. Please be assured we will never call asking you for money or to get money for us and we will never ask you to complete any tasks for us in relation to money. Should you receive one of these phone calls, please hang up and call us on 101.

Please continue to engage with us about what matters most to you and use the share button below to share into other social media platforms with friends and family who will find this message useful.

We hope you have a good week.
